24 valve Cossie Estate flicking needles

Sigh! Anyone know why the Dash needles flick over every now and then? I had a new Bty fitted and after a few months the needles started flicking over, say every 30 miles, on a long journey with stops aprox. 120 miles. I sent the Bty back to Varta, they checked it out, said it is fine. I fitted it and hey presto back to flicking about as above. I look forward to all advice, as usual greatly apreciated. Mike

Is it only happening when you first turn the ignition on or during a journey? Does the engine turn over easily every time? I assume you're not checking the voltage using the instrument reset readout as they'll always flick next time you turn on the ignition - possibly days later when you've forgotten you checked the voltage. Thanks Dave, it's always good to see you are up and about mate. . I've just done a round trip to Wales and back, some 280 miles with no bother at all, and yes I have been checking the Bty. voltage on the instrument reset button. Always thought the needles would flick just once so thanks for enlightening me. Eeeh, you are good to me. Mike
