Title: sale result - sad farewell
Post by podge on Jan 9th, 2020, 11:47am
My beloved Scorpio has been sold and has today been picked up by trailer on it's way to Dorset, the selling price was £1,200.00 (one thousand two hundred) I had to let it go as I was throwing money at it each time the MOT was due, being a pensioner just could not afford that expense.
I now have a Volvo 2015 V40 D3, a nice car, but in no way as comfortable as my Scorpio.
I owned the Scorpio for 16 years and got to know all the niggly problems that I have had to deal with, so rather than end my term as a member of this forum I will carry on and may be able to answer a problem that comes up, I also wish to thank the team for all the support that you have given me on this forum for the many years I have been a member.
Kind regards, Paul.

Hi Simmo,
At least it is not going to be broken up or the engine used in a stock car racing, the chap mailed me he collects classic cars and  is going to get the rust sorted out and may show it,  he also has an "S" type is that a Merc?
Paul.

Sad to see another Scorpio owner selling the car he loves, but needs must i suppose, usual "S" type is a Jag I suspect PJ will confirm if I am correct.

Glad its gone to a good home.

Dont suppose your guy wants a cos saloon as mine has to go in the spring as its estates only from now on for me and Xander.

Best wishes to you and hear again soon from you.

Simmo nice to see you're back  HNY etc   :)

Well Paul, I am truly sorry to read that you have had to let your much love Scorpio go. I just hope that the new owner takes good care of your car.

I shall hope to see a new person on the Site soon.

All the best mate, and thank you for all your input over the years

May I ask where you advertised the car (assuming you needed to advertise it?)

'S'-Type.   Could be Merc or Jaguar.  Merc' is 'S'-Class.   Jaguar 'S' - Type.   Both cars nowhere near as comfortable as Scorpio.   Sad days.

Hi QuentinG,
Advertised it on this site and E-bay, sold on E-bay reserved price - chap that bought it tidies them up not sure if he shows them so you may see it round the Wyndom area of Dorset.
Paul.

I have a couple thast have to go, the M cos saloon and the r reg 2.3 1 previous owner estate m472wce & r602pjm respectively.
So long as he's genuine he's welcome to view as not yet advertised, waiting for spring?! ???

Always wary as the bangers go to great and devious lengths nowadays as they are so rare to find.

Anyway if any interest let me know
 ;) :D ;D

Thanks very much for the info.
The enquiries I've had so far have been from people who had them/sold them/wanted one a very long time ago. One low offer from a chap who sells cheap cars on EBay. If I get any actual phone calls or viewings will let you know. Behaving itself at the moment!
