According to the handbook supplement in my car, Scorpios built after 98 ¼ MY, do not require a red key. According to my VIN, my car was built in June 1998 and registered on 14th August (S Reg) so is probably one of the last built. Does anyone have an R or S or even a T (yes there are some about, I nearly bought one!!)registered Scorpio that does not require the red key or is MY on the VIN plate.

I just can't imagine Fords changing what is a complex system on a car which was being dumped that same month

I have no problems with mine, I'm just interested

Ford 98May > use two blue keys to get into program mode. You often find that Ford pick off the shelf what every system happens to be there. Have found Pat3 systems on very early vehicles.

Hang on, PAT3?? i thought there was only a 1 and 2, where did 3 appear from???

Mine is a 98 and i dont have a red key. john.n :-/
