Hi there !

I had a wanderfull experience with a 93 non-frog-eye scorp. It had an electrically adjusted backseat, can't reember if it was heated aswell.

My question is, will it fit my 96 saloon scorp ? The 93 one was a also a saloon. As for the design it was identical, althrough i couldn't measure it......

you only need the bits (motors, etc), not the seat.

I had one like that aswel a few years ago. Cloth material though.

If i remember rightly, isnt it the square insert (kind of thing) that reclines/adjusts?

Wouldnt fancy taking the scissors to the nice leather though. EEk!

if swapping seats, there are two types of s/belt pre tensioners, inertia & pyrotechnic, check first

like Scorpio Man said, you DONT need to change the seats. It is my understanding that it's the pin/bolt whatever you want to call it, that the seat back clicks into that moves. If anything requires a little cutting and modification it's going to be the padding to the left and right of the back seat where the bolt protrudes out to the side.

I have just obtained hopefully everything to do just this and hope to fit it all when the warmer weather comes. ;)

As Danny_R says you replace the captive 'locking bolt' with one attached onto a worm gear and motor (rear 1/4 still has the locaters carried over from the Granada I believe) and you only need to cut a small slit in the leather on the side panel and not the seat just to allow the seat to recline as the worm gear travels back its few inches with the 'locking bolt'. The small box trim section for the switch is replaced with that of a Granada as it is the same so there's no cutting there.

Just make sure that when you obtain the motors you check the size of the captive bolt as very early models were of a different size to the later ones and may not fit your back seat catches which would then mean replacing them as well.

As for for the wiring well I am not sure yet as to where the best place is for connection yet, Baz will be the best man to answer that question.

I do remember Baz saying though that their was a small issue on the RH with boot shocker absorber, this will probably be due to the repositioning of it from the Granada.

Mike,

connections are made to the wiring which feeds the front seat motors. Mine like yours has electric passenger and driver seat. That is how it is done on the granada scorpios, the back seat wiring is just spliced into the ones for the front and soldered.

The issue in the boot is with the damper for the boot lid. there is a ball joint for it on the rh boot arm and one on the metal just above where the rear shocker is. The seat motor gets in the way and as the boot closes, it pops the little shock absorber off the knuckle. I managed to rework the bracket on the boot using some big grips and things and now it is fine. If you don't have the damper on, the boot lid flies up and then bounces up and down until it stops. the damper means it shoots up then stops at the top of its cycle!
