aquired a 3rd brakelight (cheers highlander), mounting is no problem, its just the wiring, i checked the 'sponges' on both sides etc, my scorp doesnt have the wiring installed. so where and what wires do i splice into? obviously the brake light wires, but which ones are they? the scorp has so many wires in the loom, anyone got a piccy?

Can you not get the colour from the stop light bulb holder ?. If you look at This (http://www.carsoft.ru/avtorepair/sierra/stoplamps.pdf) it would appear that the colour is violet and yellow on one side and violet on the other so depends which side you are looking to connect to.

i had a quick look at that, but the light assembly uses a multiplug then circuit board, spose if i take the brakelight out to see more clearly i might be able to see which circuit goes to which plug connection, hmm, thats a thought...

I am sure Baz has said in the past that there is a plug there somewhere.

apparently on some there is, some there isnt, i've had the speakers and spongy bit out but cant find any spare plugs...

I think its the purple with yellow tracer in the n/s light but get someone to press the brake & check 12v at light socket if there is a plug it may be behind o/s boot trim as i cant remember seeing one along the pracel shelf,mine comes up as part of the speaker loom

Yep mines in the same loom as the speakers, maybe splice it in from the loom where it passes up the wheel arch?

hi, how did you get on with the 3rd brakelight, did you get it sorted? i have just got one as well and like you no plug. if you got it working can you tell me where you spliced into the loom? thanks. John

Try looking up from inside the boot the wires on mine were wrapped with sponge and pushed well in to the offside speaker area couldnt actualy see them but just managed to hook them out with my fingers.

thanks cossie found my wires ;D only problem now apart from having to cut a hole in the parcel shelf, there are 2 wires and 2 connecters on the brake light but they are not marked +or- does it matter which terminal they go to?

took a guess that the longer of the 2 wires would go to the furthest terminal, and it works so i figure i guessed right. ;D

excellent, just found the wires for the 3rd brakelight tucked right up behind the pillar trim, now to start cutting up the parcel shelf....
