Title: 12v to 24v conversion
Post by Highlander on Jan 26th, 2007, 7:15pm
Ok, heres the deal, I have a nice 12v Ultima estate with a broken gearbox.
I also have enough 24v spares to sink a battleship.

I would like a 24v estate so the idea is to stick a 24v engine and box into it.

Wiring I think is going to be my main concern but i have all the looms, instrument cluster, ECU (not yours Tintin) ;)

Diff is the same (but I have a spare 4.27) ;) might need the 24v prop, the brakes can stay the same, rack can stay the same although not speed sensitive, got an exhaust, 24v coolant reservoir, would need to put the traction control/ABS pump and controller from the 24v

Anyone think of anything that is going to be a major problem for me?

I recon the loom may just hook right up on the drivers side wing,

Does the 12V have all the emissions gear?

If the 12V's an auto then the prop will be the same as the 24V.

TT

Yep they are autos too but the non electronic type, got a spare prop if need be.
Theres a cat on  the 12v yes.

Thats what i'm hoping, the main loom is the same and I just plug it in  ;D
