Title: EEC IV & Teves IV questions? Post by harry.m1byt on Jan 28th, 2007, 10:48am I'm trying to get some definitive answers on this please... 1. Which models of Scorp used the older EEC IV? 2. Which models of Scorp used the Teves IV ABS. 3. Does the Teves IV as used on the Scorp output the identical data output format as the Granada used, or is it 9141 ISO K protocol as marked on the OBD socket? Reasons for the questions - Just trying to organise a group buy of a DIY diagnostic system.... http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Advice;action=display;num=1169912580 |

Title: Re: EEC IV & Teves IV questions? Post by Scorpius on Jan 28th, 2007, 12:06pm I believe that the ECU for the Scorpio moved on from the older Mk IV and i believe is a MK V is used. The Teves mk 7 could well be the same and was used in Scorpios up to sometime during 1997 when the Teves mk 20 took over. BUT dont quote me on it. Ian |

Title: Re: EEC IV & Teves IV questions? Post by sector-9 on Jan 29th, 2007, 8:46pm I'm 99% certain that: 2.0 (8v & 16v) and 2.3 DOHC engines all used EEC-V 2.9 24v (i.e. Cosworth) engines also used EEC-V 2.5TD up to about '96 used EEC-IV 2.9 12v engines also used EEC-IV I've no idea what ECU the 2.5TD from '96 used - I'm sure it wasn't an EEC-IV but could be wrong... As for ABS, the original Granada had a different system to the Scorpio. No idea what system it used, but it was physically different and involved an accumulator sphere on top of the valve block. The Scopio uses either the Teves V or Teves 20 (the 20 being used on later models) - what the difference is I don't know but there were definitely some electrical changes as the later one needs the ABS light to be reset by Ford whereas the earlier one could reset itself if the fault was cured. I also remember reading something about the ABS modulator being different to support traction control, though I don't know if this is related. Darren |
