Title: Distributor Cap Removal Post by anyasdad on Feb 23rd, 2007, 3:44pm Can someone help. I need to remove Distributor cap on my V6 12V Ultima to check for condensation. Have removed the 2 screws inside the metal can but nothing comes away! How does one get the cap off? Thanks. |

Title: Re: Distributor Cap Removal Post by Zombie on Feb 24th, 2007, 11:37am I had to wiggle mine to free it. ::) But it will come off. Its a lot of fun transferring the leads to a new cap, if you decide it needs one. |

Title: Re: Distributor Cap Removal Post by anyasdad on Feb 24th, 2007, 1:50pm Thanks for the advice, have discovered that the metal screeining can is fixed by spring clips and just pulls of after removing the plug and coil leads. Then you can undo the screws and lift off the cap and rotor arm. They don't make things easier as cars get more modern! |
