Hey all

Does anyone know if any of the scorpio range had badges on the back? the reason i ask is that im fed up of people assuming my car is a cosworth and trying to race me (i live in essex, they have nothing better to do) so what i wanted was a nice 2.0 badge or something like that? anyone got any sugestions?

you could try HALFORDS, they normally have badges.......wont be actual scorp badges though

You can get some very tastefull chrome numbers/letters at good car spares shops, that don't look out of place.

I got a couple of 2s/dots/3s from my local car spares shop, to go on the front wings above the side flashers for 99p each :)

Scrapyards are always a good place to look, you can get all sorts of badges.... :D

I've got one of the side SCORPIO badges on the back bottom right corner of my 1996 2.9 and a V6 one between the Ford logo and the lock. I think it enhances the car.

I completely ignore boy racers. They are just silly little children who haven't grown up yet. I prefer to take care of my car, and drive it like a normal sensible driver.

Nothing makes a boy racer look more stupid than when he goes screaming off the lights, only to find that nobody is even bothering to keep up with or take any notice of him................ :)

I would get a 2.0 badge from the front wing of a car at the scraper and fit it on the boot lid.

However, i DO have a Cosworth (and a badge on the boot saying so), but dont seem to get many boy racers around are way to play with. (DOH)

I recommend that you get a Cossie and show these boys what its really about. LOL

You'll always get boy racers, no matter what you drive ;). I doubt many of them know or care what a Scorpio is, let alone know there was ever a Cosworth version (a mate of mine who's ambition it is to get an Escort cossie reckons I'm a liar about the Scorpio ::)). If you let them know you've got a 2.0, it'll get worse IMO...you'll get all the chavs in their pimped up 318i Beemers trying to outrun you. The less said, the better ;)

I get people wanting to race me in my scorpio as well, I thought it was just me, its like they HAVE to get in front of that 'ugly car'. I also have an escort 1.8si 3 door and I seem to get alot less hassle with that one, weird in it? ;) Think they is just jealous! 8)

you could try american car spares, their badges are normally slightly different but look very tasteful, classic american magazine would be a good place to look.....if they still publish it.....

Hi mate, you live in essex you say, if you know south ockendon there is a great car spares shop there, they sell badges and individual letters and numbers, that would look very nice

Whilst filling up the washer bottle once at a local garage I was approached by a shady looking lad who had just got out of a saxo with big exhaust and black windows.

Seeing the engine cover he said something like "that a cossieh innit?" to which I replied that yes it was.

"does it shift like?"

Like what I asked!

"that's a mint car that is mate innit?"

Well I like it....

He then dealt the killer blow....

"Do ya wanna come cruisin wiv me an me mates innit like?"

I declined the offer!

Now that brings a story to mind.

Back in the 80s, my wife had an Austin Alegro 1750 TC Equipe. (one of the first GTIs). It was seriously rapid!!!
I had done a rebuild job on the engine and had the running in label in the back windsreen. the car had done around 600 miles since the rebuild so was about ready to open up.
Now, she was driving up a road and was being followed by an Escort Mexico, driven by a lad and obviously trying to get past as he was weaving over the white line and back in again.
Anyway, she came up to a duel carrigeway and the Mexico pulled out and started to pull along side. at which point she put her foot to the floor and blew him into the weeds.

You should have seen the look of shock on his face!!!
