can anybody give me advice on replacing a water pump on a 24 valve ..
like what has to be removed and how long it should take ..
it is a 1996 ultima

i founf that you can change the pump without taking everything out.
all i took off was the big plastic cover and all the water pipes.
you dont get much room but enough to get it off and scrap all the old gasket off, i made a scrapper as you cant get close and flat enough on the face of the engine.
i bought the gaskets from ford for £1.05 each, you have to push them on the gasket as they dont bother looking , i think i got the part number from someone on here, thats the only way that they can find anything.

only one thing..................

when you pull the old pump off the thermastate hose becareful as you could puncture the ac rad.

it should take about an hour, the hardest part is getting the pump back into the thermastate hose.

i also used a tube of gasket sealent on the gasket, makes it easier to keep in place
