Hi all, has anyone ever replaced the rocker cover on a 2.3 16v.  Mine is starting to leak but have been told that its not as straght forward as most.  Benn told there is some kind of tentioner which once moved is non reusable

Its the timing chain tensioner which must be renewed if the timing chain is slackened off . BUT as you are only renewing the top cover seal as I understand it there is nothing to replace other than a new cover gasket .... see THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/engines/dohc2_3/2300CylHead.pdf) which might explain a little bit more.
