2.9 12v auto has developed an ominous knock from the torque converter/gearbox area on startup/tickover.
Can't hear it on the road and box is behaving normally.
Any ideas please?
A prognosis would be useful as MOT is due now and tax at the end of the month  :'(

broken / insecure drive plate.

take starter off and check torque converter nuts are tight in the drive plate
