Is the diesel engine in the Scorp Diesel the same as the Ford Maverick?

Pretty sure it is the same as the 2.5TD used in the Jeep Cherokee and Nissan X-Trail and several other vehicles but not 100%

The 2.5 Scorpio diesel engine is the Italian designed vm engine originally made for donkey work on harbours and in boats, hence why I call mine The Boat.

Other applications I know of were the rover 800 series and some range rovers. Probably more as well.

We have now transplanted a scorpio vm2.5td into a mk3 transit 4x4 and it works, relief.

you can even find them in alfa romeos

The Metrocab uses the same engine as well, but doesn't have the turbo :)
