Title: waterpump fitting Post by strebor on Dec 19th, 2007, 6:10pm Hello new member here I have been reading the post for a while now and found lots of very good advice on various problems I've had thanks to all all who have contributed . My latest problem is a leeking water pump there seems to be conflicting opinions about replacement parts being avalable (FMD/Patern) I have perchased a new pump from a friend in my local spares shop who says its the correct one (2.9 1997 Scorpio Ghia X) It doesn't look right because of the bend on the large inlet/outlet I have check the manufacturers web site where its listed [http://www.firstline.co.uk/op3/product_set.php?mode=5&type=PV&m meid[1]=1392&make=Ford&model=Scorpio&variant=-&subvariant=-&engine=2.9i&product=Water%20Pumps Anyone know the truth about this mistery if this pump is correct it will save members a lot of money I paid 42 pounds (with my discount) ps how do i put pictures on here |

Title: Re: waterpump fitting Post by Robiko on Feb 6th, 2008, 5:32pm Had the same problem today, took off the leaking water pump, tried to fit a new one...wrong one, even though it's listed as a 24v BOB engine waterpump...the motor factors say that it is the right one, according to all their computers and catalogues, but it so obviously isn't...can't put the old one back on because it's so worn it's not moving any water around, so up sh*t creek without the proverbial paddle... ;o) Does any-one have the Ford part number for a '96 (P) Cosworth waterpump? (Been checking the Internet, same thing, 2.9 24v BOB engine listings, but they're all trying to sell the 12v version of the waterpump instead of the 24v...doesn't any-one check these things before they waste our time flogging us cr*p that doesn't fit? -disgruntled Scorpio owner ;o) ) |
