Title: which plug for air bag?
Post by Chieftain on May 4th, 2008, 5:43pm
Having at long last decided to stop the air bag light coming on as and when it felt like, followed instructions to remove steering wheel cover to find the loose plug that is always mentioned, but all seems tight, but which plug am I looking for? A yellow one when to airbag then there was a small one with I think 4 leads.

The yellow one goes into the airbag.

The airbag warning light is not that simple. It can become lit due to a loose connection under your bum! Meaning that it may occur when a connection under the either side front seat pyrotechnic seatbelt tensioner plug is loose. The light should flash a code, indicating the location of the fault. Have a look at this link: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/airbags.htm.

Mine comes on then stays on for a while then will go off, is the clockspring connector obvious as all I could see was that very slim connector held firmly in place by rubber moulding, it would seem to be a loose connection as it does seem to settle down over rough ground or as the other day when I slammed the bonnet off it went. ;D
