I'm going to have a look this weekend to see if the estate rear subframe will fit on a saloon with the self levelling shocks etc, anyone looked at this before or even tried it?

I'm not sure if the shock mounts etc will be there on the saloon but i'm off for a look see :)

ifaik, the saloon doesn't have the mounting points at the bottom/middle of the wishbone.

Yep but i was thinking of swapping over the whole subframe, as long as theres a top mounting hole for the estate shocks i think it should work.
one way to find out ;)

Seeing as the estate shock top is secured by a single nut & the saloon shock top secured by a nut & through bolt, then wouldn't the top mounts be different ? :-/

As I've got both an estate & a saloon then I suppose I could go & check to make sure, but it's 3.55 in the morning & I really can't be bothered ;D

Given the price of new self levelers, im sure there will be a lot of happy estate owners who can reverse the principle if it works ;D

Sorry if this is a dumb question - and someone please do correct me if I'm wrong, but can you just fit the standard rear shocks from the earlier Granada Scorpio Estate ?

Appreciate you would lose the self-levelling feature but if it does the job ?

I thought the rear suspension for the Scorpio was pretty much carried over ???

Floor pans are different, no mounting points for the top of the estate shocks on the saloon and vice versa, i suppose it could be modifed but not easily
