Title: Re: MPG Post by scorpio_man on Apr 26th, 2009, 1:33pm hi there auto or manual? if auto, a bit low in town. i could get 19mpg at 16mph. the motor way figure is good, though. i could only get 29mpg at 65mph. these are average figures, not after a trip reset (and on gas). hth |

hi there is that the instantaneous reading or after a reset? for a 'true' reading, you need to have ran without resetting it for 500 miles, then check the average speed and miles to the gallon. hth |

Title: Re: MPG Post by amigafan2003 on Apr 27th, 2009, 10:54am 300 miles after picking the Y reg (Cosworth saloon) up - NSL and motorway all the way to literally my front door - measured by brimming the tank at the start and doing it again at the end - steady 80mph on speedo and CC - returned 27.2 mpg - 49 litres used. Currently averaging 23mpg on commute to work - 25% 30mph roads, 25% 50mph roads, 50% motorway at 80mph. |

Title: Re: MPG Post by Highlander on Apr 27th, 2009, 8:15pm the less weight the better. The only really accurate way to work out the mpg is to fill up, reset the trip. next time you fill up you'll have the litres/gallons used and miles travelled. I did manage 37 in a 24v on a trip from Edinburgh to Aberdeen once but i sat about 55 all the way, as soon as you start to get much over 70 it really eats the fuel, I average 25 overall |

After I got mine the oil price went very rapidly down. Still remember the 90 euro deal when filling it up with 60 litres the first time. Now it has dropped to 70 euros for a similar fill up. I'm doing around 14 l/100km (16-17 mpg) for worktrips (<10km per direction mixed) and 9 l/100km (26 mpg) when driving steadily around 100km/h on highways. But I do less than 10000km per year with this one. |
