Title: replacement discs and pads, mintex? Post by Tekno on May 16th, 2009, 8:10pm Hello What do you think of Mindex brake parts (disks and pads) ? Good quality, premium brand? or not worth paying a little more compared to very cheapest alternative? I live in Finland, so cheapest alternative is to get set of randomly choosen brand of discs/pads so I propably get discs that go easily warped and pads which produce a lot of dust. Mintex are available in ebay with pretty good price so I thought to ask from you... |

Title: Re: replacement discs and pads Post by pinto on May 16th, 2009, 8:23pm Probably one of the best of the standard equipment fitments :) - used a set on my 2300 Ghia the other day and i cant complain :) If you fancy something a little more special, try : www.rallydesign.co.uk either the Grp N disks with standard pads, or get the drilled/cross drilled ones with carbometallic pads ( need a little more warming up, but the braking performance is much, much better :) ) |

Yet to verify the quality in practice, but the disks look pretty decent that I got from www.estrol.de. They cost (vented of course) 24 euros/pair rear (253mm) and 37 euros/pair front (278mm). Shipping was 25 to Finland, but they sure weigh a lot. Also bought some front pads from the same place for 13 euros (had wear indicators, but need to check if i need them for 24V), but those I have no extremely high hopes for. Local factors in Finland rob you with 30-40 euros for a set of pads for one axle of average quality. Discs here for that same car I was quoted 170 euros all round. |
