Title: Can a dealer find out radio code? Post by sgt_pepper on Jun 12th, 2009, 2:00pm I don`t quite need it yet, but I will eventually need to reset the code on my radio! I would like to know from your knowledgeable selves if I can obtain the code from a ford dealer if I take the logbook to them? and also if they charge for this? The last owner did not know the code, I did actually ask him when I bought the car! Thanks. :) |

Title: Re: Can a dealer find out radio code? Post by adam on Jun 12th, 2009, 2:42pm I along with a few other members have the software to decipher your code from the headunits serial number. Let me know if you need it. FMD will be able to let you know the code off your reg. They may well charge you for this. hth Adam |

Is it cranking and not firing or not cranking? As Andrew said above, check you havent missed the small black lead on the -ve terminal. have you locked and unlocked the car since fitting the battery to clear immobiliser/PATS? make sure the fuel cut off switch in the boot hasnt popped out. |

Title: Re: Can a dealer find out radio code? Post by Jonnycab on Jun 13th, 2009, 11:38am You'll need a pair of radio removal keys which you can buy in most local car spares shops for a couple of quid or on Ebay HERE (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CD-RADIO-REMOVAL-KEYS-PINS-1-39-FREE-DELIVERY_W0QQitemZ350212065845QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_In_Car_Audio_Players_PP?hash=item518a440a35&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1689%7C240%3A1308%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50) :) |

Title: Re: Can a dealer find out radio code? Post by shooshyneman on Jul 16th, 2009, 10:04pm Shame you could have bent two peices of welding wire or coat hangers they work just as well |

Title: Re: Can a dealer find out radio code? Post by Jonnycab on Jul 17th, 2009, 1:49am Welding wire would be way too weak...it would just bend when you tried to pull it sideways. Coat hanger wire is better but still bends too much & makes it difficult to get the stereo out. Besides, can you still get wire coat hangers ?....they all seem to be plastic nowadays ::) The proper removal keys are alot more rigid......so when you insert them & pull then sideways, the stereo comes out nice & easy :) |
