Every engine type has its problems, its just down to the individual car, you could get a good one or you could get a bad one.

Bear in mind its at the very least going to be a an 11 year old car. possibly 15 years old

I run a couple of 24v's and to be honest they havent given me too many problems but they're are plenty horror stories out there about 24v problems, many which have proved terminal mainly due to repair costs although again this also replies to other engine types too.

Personally I couldnt afford to run them if i were paying garage servicing and repair prices, i do the work myself.

There was a good thread on advice for buying a 24v, i'll have a hunt for it

hi nreg 2.9 24v.cosmetic prob,i noticed the bumper was a bad fit but the paintmatch was ok.he said he had a cracked one replaced with a new one.ive just gone to adjust the bumper!!the reason its a poor fit it looks like a face lift bumper and the rubber washer caps are trapped under the head lamps?? OR am i missing something. ???

Dont really understand what you mean about the washers caps trapped under the headlights, do you have a picture?

The prefacelift and facelift bumpers should be a straight swap although I have heard a couple of people say the mounting brackets can been different but never found that myself.

hi,sorry highlander i realize that a pic will save a thousand words no digital.but i will try harder to get one. it appears that the bumper locates on the bracket  correctly but it is pulled down and backwards, causing the washer cover to go under the head light and about  a cm gap around the edge.not live threatening but ???anyway did 230mls around n/yorkshire and richmond to day two crumblies in a cosworth 2.9 brilliant ;D

Nice looking car :)

I see what you mean about the headlight washers under the lights..

The problem appears to be that they arent Scorpio headlight washer covers, must be off another car.

rustynut.
The covers certainly do look strange ! If the back edge of the bumper is level with the front edge of the wheelarch, then it must be fitted in the right place.

Yep I know, I was really disappointed with the pictures I took of the Loden Green one I had, just looked green! :)

Its lovely in the sunlight, gold, purple and black through it.

p.s. is the bumper an exact colour match? dont think Loden Green was still around when the facelift came out.

hi,the bumper is a re spray original-dark red.what i couldnt understand was why the time and effort?respray a facelift then leave such a bad fit.
hope he hasnt been under the bonnet. ??? ;D  ;D

Because the facelift washer covers are like hens teeth :)

And if you want to buy a new pair you need to buy the whole washer assemblies which used to be £50 each, although probably more now, IF you can still get them
