could someone please tell me the best battery to get for my 2.0 16v ultima 1995 auto would 6oo cca be ok

The details are HERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/battery.htm). You need 650 CCA. :)  These cars require a lot of power to maintain the electrics and many problems are caused by a battery of insufficient capacity. :)

Just double checking is the 650cca/701a battery ok for the 2.0L model, as i am worried about burning something out. As the car shops i have asked about a new battery have all stated a lower power.

Ron, Mine, on my 2.0 ;)ltr 16v is a Varta. 680 and 71amp. Been on there for years.

"the power" is really the wrong word; its the current rating/capacity figure that is referred to

650cc means you can draw 650 amps for a short period to start (cranking current) the car . 71ah means you can draw 71 amps continuosly for an hour or 10 amps for 7 hours. So higher the numbers better for the car; it doesnt mean more power is delivered to the electrics so nothing will get damaged

I bought 68Ah/450ccA and that did cost 80 euros  ::)

By chance the battery i was looking at was the Varta 640cca 70AH, so that is what ill be going for.
