Title: Rear Brake Caliper. Post by Kenboy on Sep 19th, 2009, 12:04pm Hi I mentioned a few days ago that I had obtained an old caliper (Rear) that I intended to dismantle of which I have now done so I now have a much better understanding of the working parts and how to cure that troublesome handbrake lever assembly (Seizing up) If you decide to undertake this task then I have learned some valuable tips to ease this ,of which I will gladly pass on, if so desired but one tip I will give you now and that is, if the caliper is still in situ ,free off from the wheel disc and then depress brake pedal this will force the cylinder to the top of its bore and makes life much more easier to completely remove when the caliper is on the work bench. BTW time taken to strip, about 30 minutes. Cheers Kenboy Cheers Kenboy Kenboy |
