Title: Vaacuum pipes
Post by tlundkvi on Oct 10th, 2009, 6:56am
Probably a silly question :) I'm getting P1405&1406 even after resetting, indicating a clog or a problem in the two vacuum pipes that go to the DTPF sensor. The hoses are attached and I could not spot a leak, but they look quite old. Can I replace these with any soft rubber hose of the right size, or are there any special requirements suggesting I should get them from Ford?

the hoses would need to heat resistant and be strong enough so it wont collapse under vacumme pressure

Found some Good Year hose marketed as vacuum hose sold by the meter, so I guess this should be sufficient in strength (5mm inside, 3mm wall the other one 7.5-8mm, 3mm wall). One of the old hoses snapped in half when I tried to do a thorough check yesterday... Luckily it's the quickest to fix :)
