Title: Re: Boot wont stay up Post by Simmo on Oct 27th, 2010, 8:09am Hi Mrs Reg ;). If you go to This page (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/body/closures/bonnet.pdf) and scroll down to section 7 it shows how to release the struts.( The details are for the bonnet as there is no diagram for the tailgate but the fitting is the same.) If you post on 'Parts Wanted' you may get lucky. :) |

Title: Re: Boot wont stay up Post by emptypockets on Oct 27th, 2010, 9:21pm Hi Folks. I have the same problem with the boot on my saloon. A sawn off brush shaft is not really in keeping with the Scorpio. Is there a strut involved or is it down to the two terrifying springs getting weak? Cheers. ??? |

Sorry only just figured this out, lol ;D you mean put something on that makes the springs shorter? Reminds me I've noticed a "choice of anchor holes" at the back ends (boot rear), has anybody tried moving the spring hooks to a different hole? |

Title: Re: Boot wont stay up Post by Mike H on Nov 2nd, 2010, 6:58pm Appendix to the above ~ before I put the interior boot trim back on (as everybody before me couldn't figure out where it goes) the boot lid would open itself fully if I press the remote 'boot' button. Which I thought was really neat. Now it needs a bit of "gentle persuasion" with a couple of fingers to get it started. Or am I being hyper-fussy ;D |
