Title: 24V Estate Front Discs Post by Dave2302 on Jun 28th, 2011, 9:16am Hi, Can anyone tell me what the diameter of the 24V Estate front discs should be ??? I think they should be about 280mm, but the old ones off the Scorpio are really rusty so it's difficult to get an accurate measurement ;) I bought a new set about 6 months ago for the Puma, went to fit them yesterday but they appear to be about 20mm too small in diameter compared to the old ones. Can't remember who I got them from either :( The ones I have been supplied seem to be identical to some 4x4 Sierra ones I have laying around, 260mm. I want to use the biggest "stock Ford" discs possible on this car, I have already overhauled and fitted the Scorpio Calipers to the 4X4 Hub Carriers ;) Cheers Dave |

Title: Re: 24V Estate Front Discs Post by PJDavis on Jun 28th, 2011, 10:52am Dave. Unless you're in a terrible hurry to get rid of them, I'll take them off you. I've only just put a set of mintex discs and pads on the car, I think I was about £50 for the set of pads and discs I can check. Course I'll need to check the kit number to make sure you've got the ones that fit my 'barge'. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Scorpio-2-3i-94-Front-Mintex-Brake-Disc-Pad-kit-/220768146470?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3366ce9426#ht_3194wt_987 This is the place I got them from, top service and does the full range. Of course I didn't get them posted to the house because that's in Highland and would have cost more. Got them posted to my work in Grampian. I could do the same for you regarding the postage and again if you're not in hurry. Then we could meet for a coffee half way or something. Peter |

Title: Re: 24V Estate Front Discs Post by gozz on Jun 28th, 2011, 12:29pm I've got one of those kits sent in error, all the stretched cars have Cossie brakes,I kept them because I had a 16v saloon at that time. Some of the factors aren't too good at listing their wares accurately,I've sent items back before, great waste of time ::) GOZZ. |

Title: Re: 24V Estate Front Discs Post by Matt on Jun 28th, 2011, 6:37pm Yep Mk 1 focus RS used 328mm discs and brembo 4 pots (as Stuart says ive got a set for the cossie :P), but they are not a straight swap and will only fit behind a 17 inch wheel or bigger unlike the focus ST 300 mm ones which fit behind the ultima 12 spokes http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd429/Matt24v/Scorpio%20Related/IMAG0226.jpg |

Title: Re: 24V Estate Front Discs Post by Dave2302 on Jun 28th, 2011, 7:28pm PJ, there here if you want them, yes they should fit yours fine. Guys, thanks for the info, Focus ones sound good, but won't fit under 15" steel wheels, which I need to use for my Gravel tyres ;) Also I've already overhauled my Cossie Scorp calipers and modded my 4X4 hub carriers so they fit, so I think I'll stick with the 278mm Cossie Brakes............... They should be more than up to stopping an 1100 kg car ;D If anyone has a nice good s/h set of cossie discs I'll buy 'em b 4 I order new ones end of next week when more funds arrive LOL Cheers Dave |
