When were puddle lights and water level sensors (as opposed to the light on the dash) deleted?

I think as they ran out of the parts, they got deleted :o My April 98 has neither.

I think that if you sift through the equipment specs on the main site, you will find that the kerb (puddle) and closure lights were fitted to the Ultima from the start but disappeared from the spec by 1997 models.
The dipping nearside door mirror on reverse was introduced on the 1996 Ultima models and appears to have stayed.
There is no mention of water level sensors.

My jan 95 build has water level sensor and it works but no dipping mirror, this was noted by previous owner who was on the forum.

On the 97 models I have - it really is a chocolate teapot, light on the dash....nothing! Thanks a lot Henry Ford, perhaps is was if we cook the engine they sell more spares!

The dipping doorside mirror was earlier than '96 because I have one on my 2.0L Ultima Estate that was registered in May '95.

Yes Bob I agree it is confusing. I forgot to mention that both my '95 and the '96 registered Ultimas have the dipping mirror on reverse. I was just quoting the info on this site (equipment specs). One of them was May '95 as yours is.
I wonder if the dipping mirror come with the electric windows which were in the convenience option pack for the lower models before they became standard.

You really need to go by build date, easy chart on here and to find date use ford etis, last 2 letters before the 5 digit chassiis number.

As I mentioned mine is pretty early with Jan 1995 build. It has non dipping mirror, puddle lights, no high level light in the rear window and no umtima badge by the gearshift BUT the interior was replaced by CJN when he had it dont really want to write to him as the old CJN No is on a mazda mx5 now???

Hope this clears the mud a little

If I remember correctly the puddle lights were deleted on the facelift models but as they had a lot left the used them on them until they ran out.

Hi

on my new car build date nov 96 has puddle lights, will advise if water level works when back on the road, another saved!!!!!
