I love it too, mainly because it's got the new HEMI motor and knowing that logging on to a US web site such as Summit Racing there is bound to be performance upgrades for this motor!
Which brings me to my next point; Richard Hammond on Top Gear made a comment about the Jaguar having over 400 bhp squeezed from it's smaller lump where as the Yank and Oz motor had lower bhp from larger engines.
This is an unfair comparison, for a start the Jag was an R type which denotes it is forced air fed (super-charger), where the other two motors were standard run of the mill engines.
If they were to compare these cars properly with performance modified vehicles in the same price range as the Jag then I am sure they would have a different story to tell!  Afterall, the Holden (Vauxhall), comes in various engine types, some of which we will not see here and are much more potent.  The Chrysler will undoubtly be available with numeorus supercharger and performance option goodies, especially from the MOPAR specialists Hennesey.
I am going to drop Top Gear an email with my sentiments see what they have to say!

I was in Aus last year and my son has a Holden V8 5lt which pushes you back in the seat and never stops, I have had two holdens when I lived in Africa and they could go anywhere a Landrover could go and in comfort, reliable and well put together.

The Chrysler was featured in the last series of top gear so i wonder why they featured it again. Also the holden had "R" on the bootlid  also denoting that its not quite standard. but i did like it.........

I don't think Holden have anything  as standard, they all have great engines, even the small 4 cylinder is fast, there is a big Holden following over there in Aus and you can buy everything from a Tinny holder to a jacket and lots of add on body panels etc, I saw some crackers on my trip real nice body and paint jobs, only thing is they are terrible drivers, I think they all drive with blinkers on and haven't a second to spare. The pick up Holden I had was in Swaziland and they don't have any tar roads there (or didn't in the early 70s) and I had a pub in the middle of nowhere and had to travel 50 mile to pick up my booze order and that Holden used to groan under the weight but never let me down, I would take the Holden any time over the Chrysler, of which I have owned a Valiant , straight 6, also in darkest Africa, as well as a Oldsmobile Toranado, Plymouth Fury, Pontiac Parrisene and my last and favourite cop taunter, a 6lt twin turbo 550bhp Trans Am, ex Indi Pace Car, now that is another story! Even had the nitros fitted but never used as I could not get it recharged but it looked good.

The 300c is a great car as I see them everyday over here - very imposing looking cars. I love the 'estate' version of it even better - it's sold as the Dodge Magnum - http://www.dodge.com/magnum/
and also comes with the Hemi engine.

I'm amazed by how many cars are sold over here with 0-60 measured in between 5 and 6 seconds - and usually costing less that $40k ( GBP 21k) - stuff like the Infiniti (a fancy Nissan) FX45. Obviously the lower petrol prices means that 15-20mpg isn't as bad as it is in the UK but there are some very powerful cars around for not much money! (relatively speaking).

Agreed. I can't wait to see the 300c rolling up and down the high street. They're like a Rolls Royce/Jag/gangster mobile. Are they basically in the same league as the Cadillac STS? They're probably trying to beat them in Europe because Cadillac were so slack with it.

Strange that they've called the estate (sorry, station wagon) version the Magnum. I always loved the '79 Magnum.. now that is a mean looking car. http://www.magnumxe.com/members/51.htm

Incidentally, A few months back I happened upon several pictures of a silver Scorpio having some burnout fun on an airstrip. I think it was in this forum somewhere.. I remember the green. Anyway, i'm wondering if anyone knows where it is?
