Title: Number of the beast
Post by jonnycab on May 30th, 2006, 11:36am
I have noticed that this is 'off topic' number 666. It will also be post number 6666.
With the date 06-06-06 looming upon us, do you think I should have started this post?

This is weird....& starting to make me wonder :-/
Went shopping today & parked the car in the pay & display. On returning to the car with shopping, loaded it in the boot, & reversed out. It was at this point I noticed that the car parked next to me had the numbers '666' in the number plate. :'(

In my country some people go to a priest to bless their cars and their engines, so that the car will stay away from trouble  :)

When Iron Maiden's  'Number of the beast' was being recorded I seem to remember reading that alot of weird things started to happen in the studio, like guitars mysteriously going out of tune, & Bruce thingyenson suddenly getting a sore throat. Also Master tapes not recording what was being played, but recording white noise instead.
Pinch of salt, possibly :-/

It's Bruce thingyenson...but this site changes his name because it's got thingy in it @
Come on...guys....how can you censor someone's surname....just because it has the shortened version of Richard in it?
Put it in context :).... Or is it some kind of malevolent infiltration? :-/

God watches all - but I think you'll have difficulty putting him down as a witness for insurance purposes!

Well, just have returned from the police, the "priest" didn't have at him the insurance....... :P...so he got a ticket for it, and the car papers were temporary taken. Tomorow he said that he will bring the insurance  :'(. I was looking at mr. scorpio after putting some duct tape and a plastig bag...over the headlight...it almoust gave me tears.

had a car in 1991 with 666 on the plate had nothing but problems with it before it got bumped by taxi driver after 4 months of owning it so then was off the road for another 6 months while the insurance sorted out payment, i then got rid of it when insurance paid out but  barring in mind it was a MG Metro Turbo i suppose it didnt matter what was on the plate...

Some God fearing priests think that they are above the law (they think God will sort it out). It's about time these kind of people started questioning their faith & open their eyes to a western secular society.

P.S ...The watch tower brigade never knock on my door anymore......they think I'm beyond salvation. 8)

Number 6 is the Biblical expression of evil, emphasizing that by the power of 3 (666) indicates absolute evil and has always represented the Devil.

As for number plates, I once worked for a Chinese company and anyone who has worked for Chinese operations know's how superstitious they are.  I was their UK Operations Manager and got a call from the business owner in Hong Kong one day asking me how many of our company vehicles had the number '4' in them.  They all did!!

I had to go out and buy private licence plates for all the company cars with as many '8's in them as I could find.

(4 being highly unlucky and 8 the opposite in Chinese culture).

I am not superstitious in any way neither do I believe in fate or luck, but will always show respect for others beliefs.

I heard once that vehicles with registrations containing 666 were more likely to be involved in accidents according to insurance stats.  Not sure whether I believe it or not.  I did once buy a moped without checking the reg (which was C666 something or other and bright red).  Whether or not it would have brought me trouble I don't know, but I couldn't really be seen turning up to church on it...   :-[
