Title: Lunar Eclipse Post by Spannerdemon on Mar 3rd, 2007, 11:31pm Anybody else see the Lunar Eclipse tonight? I'm sat here, looking out over Torbay, and it is brilliant. Just a shadowy browny-red ball now. Really stunning, and a fantastic sight which I probably will never witness again. :) |

Title: Re: Lunar Eclipse Post by mazzy_j on Mar 4th, 2007, 12:30am Quite a sight indeed :) I'd been oustide earlier lying on the drive looking up at it. Crystal clear sky with all the stars twinkling away. Matt |

Title: Re: Lunar Eclipse Post by mr._floppy on Mar 4th, 2007, 1:10am A fairly pathetic showing in Scotland, just looked like a normal moon with a bit of shading to me. I've lost count of the times that a media advertised " spectacular asteroid shower " or " a Aurora Borealis Lightshow " has been, on the night, less than exciting ( dull, if truth be told ). The Hale Bopp Comet was the last decent thing to be seen in the sky I suspect Astronomers and other lovers of the astral world have rather a different meaning for the word Spectacular . |

Title: Re: Lunar Eclipse Post by jonnycab on Mar 4th, 2007, 1:42am At full eclipse it went a kind of an orangy/pink colour.....looked a little like Venus. Not quite as stunning as the 1999 solar eclipse.....which I actually captured on my camcorder. It was pretty bright, but by putting both lenses of a pair of cheap sunglasses over the camcorder lens, I managed to record it ;D |

Title: Re: Lunar Eclipse Post by RichardMS on Mar 5th, 2007, 7:01pm Did see it and took some photos for my Daughter, I don't know what all the fuss was about either TBH :-/ If I had remembered how to use the camera properly I would have had some better ones of the full eclipse, they were all out of focus though. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v480/RichardMS/Scorpio/DSCF1351.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v480/RichardMS/Scorpio/DSCF1372.jpg |
