Engine and gearbox fitted for last trial and marking up for a final floor trim before welding in the transmission tunnel..... http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/th_Puma130.jpg (http://s947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/?action=view¤t=Puma130.jpg) http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/th_Puma138.jpg (http://s947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/?action=view¤t=Puma138.jpg) http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/th_Puma137.jpg (http://s947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/?action=view¤t=Puma137.jpg) http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/th_Puma139.jpg (http://s947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/?action=view¤t=Puma139.jpg) http://www.skyewheelnuts.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=896 And finally some 24V Stainless Porno..... http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/th_Puma134.jpg (http://s947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/?action=view¤t=Puma134.jpg) http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/th_Puma133.jpg (http://s947.photobucket.com/albums/ad318/Dave2302/24V%20Turbo%20Cosworth%204x4%20Puma/?action=view¤t=Puma133.jpg) And no I can't get another pair, they were custom made for a 4x4 Sierra 24V BOB a few years back, added 30BHP as well as being a work of art fitting round all the 4x4 bits ;) Hope you enjoyed, Cheers Dave |

Title: Re: Project 24V 4x4 Puma Cossie Post by Scorpio_Mike on Jun 23rd, 2010, 10:37am WOW ! Very impressive project you have going on there Dave. Makes you wonder why Ford don't come up with this kind of thing themselves :-) Looks like some serious surgery on the shell, makes my Sierra 4x4 conversion on a 2WD shell look like childs play. Like the idea of the remote oil filter - always thought it wouldn't clear the front diff but now I've seen it will give it a go as I have the bits from my XR4i laying around. Makes for must easier and cleaner oil changes. Please keep us all updated. |

Title: Re: Project 24V 4x4 Puma Cossie Post by Dave2302 on Jun 23rd, 2010, 12:17pm Thanks Mike, Re the oil filter arm and modine cooler, you will need one from a 4x4 as the 2wd ones are different. The full build up pix and story from day 1 is on;- http://www.skyewheelnuts.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=896 Cheers Dave |

Title: Re: Project 24V 4x4 Puma Cossie Post by Scorpio_Mike on Jun 23rd, 2010, 3:56pm Dave, The oil filter arm - which Sierra is that from ? I thought all the V6's didn't have it - Saph Cossie 4x4 ? Modine cooler ? Is that like the one from the XR4i - water / oil cooler ? Got a couple of those laying around spare. Looked at all the pics - that is some very nice welding ! |

If you copied the image code from the “share this image” box on photobucket then changing both the bracketed uppercase IMG (each end of the link) to lower case seems to make it work although at 1024x683 they are too large for posting here. Dave |

Dave, Getting confused now... V6 4x4 ? Mine ( Mk1 XR4x4 ) didn't have one - didn't think any of them did. Both the XR4i's I've had did have this part but obviously 2WD V6. Thought this part was only on Saph Cossie 4x4 ? Will one from Saph 4x4 fit the V6 engine ? Thanks, Mike. |

Title: Re: Project 24V 4x4 Puma Cossie Post by Dave2302 on Jun 25th, 2010, 4:16pm Mike, maybe it is from a 4x4 Cossie then ??? My memory has faded a bit, but 10 years ago I built a 24V 4x4 Sapphire and used the same set up. At that time I broke up a 'H' reg MKII XR4X4 2.9 and I'm sure they came off that. The one I have now came in a job lot of 4x4 bits from a 24V 4x4 Sierra that someone else built, so I don't know what it came off originally, sorry for the confusion Sandra?, Alice? Who the feck is Sandra ??? Cheers Dave |

Title: Re: Project 24V 4x4 Puma Cossie Post by Mike H on Jun 29th, 2010, 1:12pm "Sandra" was some bird in the top left corner of the page inviting me for an "online chat". About what I dunno! didn't attempt to find out. Some sort of advert obviously, I was just amused by the context. Or the apparent context.... |
