Haven't been on site for a while but this has stirred me (and my mates) up a bit.

It would appear that Genghis Khan wants improve his virtue signalling brownie points by extending the ULEZ to the whole of London. >:( I live on the outer edge but he's already stopped me driving in to see my mum.

Seems to be some confusion interpreting exactly what he intends (I think we know what he'd like to do) but from what I've seen he is considering charging from £2/mile to drive in London for "all but the cleanest" vehicles (whatever that means) - so could even charge hybrids. Emergency vehicles won't be exempt either.

From what I've seen the consultation period ends Aug 2023 and it'll be implemented May 2024.

In my initial panic I thought I'd have to replace my beautiful cossie :'( (for an XF maybe) but am now going to wait and see. It celebrates its silver jubilee in September and still going strong :)

Like most politicians, he's a 2-faced shut: drives in an armour plated Range Rover - even to drive to the local park to walk his dogs (so much for "leave the car at home"). When he's seen on the box riding his bike his protection team are not far behind in their RRs. I doubt he rides the bike far - has to get back in the RR before any motorist realises who it is.

Other major UK towns have ULEZs too so no doubt they'll be watching with interest.

Here's hoping the motoring/retail lobby can have some beneficial influence.

Let’s hope he gets the boot on 2 May 2024 but that may be too late given "consultation period ends Aug 2023 and it'll be implemented May 2024" – how on earth he got back in……….

Well he's actually sanctioned it - with implementation on 29 Aug 2023 (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-63754724) - despite all the opposition.

A very sad day - will have to get rid of my beloved cossie :(

A sad day indeed for democrary also, bet he rides a bike! (or 2).

Can see alot of people moving out, the dictators unfortunately hold out their habds and you must pay them or "go to jail" therefore the money is of no value as it is NOT EARNT.

This runs through our entire biased, unjust, and useless system in this country.
