Title: Aaaaah... the joy of ownership!
Post by 97blade on Apr 8th, 2004, 7:20pm
:'(   Baptism of fire more like.... Firstly, thanks to those of you who took the time to reply to my heater probs! :-[ Took the car to frod-also losing power steering fluid. Heater needed new blower motor/resistor. The power steering however needed new rack/pump/pipes etc - £1,431.29 in total. :-/ Now I'm having probs with cruise, gonna try some o ur guys recommends tomorrow. However,ABS light is constantly on and I'm getting wobble thro the wheel on braking (I really can't spare much more cash-surprisingly!) Strangely enough tho i still love the car.......  ::)HELP??? :'(

Sorry mate, I cannot offer any wisdom or encouragement but I do thank you for making me feel better about my own scorp. I thought that I had inherited a heap but mine seems to be a gem compared to yours.
Good luck with the rest of the problems,

Ron.

Hi there Blade

Sorry to here about all you problems but dont give up just YET. The wobble during breaking sounds like warped discs and the abs light could be either dirt in the teeth on the hub or a shot sensor.
So be patiant and keep up the good work.

best of luck
                  Alan ;) ;)

Sorry to be a killjoy but a wobble AND abs lights could point to loose or worn bearings.

eddie :(

Sorry mate but I guess better late than never. Check out their prices for other bits and pieces as well..... rear shocks £27 each and fronts for £42..... how good is that !!!!?????

Had to buy a couple of HO2S sensors from them as well. Just over £80 including the socket to take them out. Absolute nightmare getting the sensors out of the manifolds but that is a story for another day. I might even consider doing a write up on it in case anyone else has to do this.

Not only that but I got nicked for speeding on my Blade today....£60 and three points. Ain't life a b*tch.

I've been putting off getting a steering rack, but that buypartsby site looks a bargain!

Trouble is, they don't list the 2.9 12v - can anyone confirm whether it's the same as the 2.0, 2.3 etc?

If so - there's the answer to all my problems (well, the ex is still breathing, so maybe not.....)

All makes and models have their own problems, most of the scorpio ones seem to stem from lack of previous maintinance, weather they have a full history or not.
on my second 24v now, this one still gives me a 'stiffey'
when I drive it, which is not as often as I would like as the wife is very posessive over the keys, or perhaps she is jelous over the effect the car has on me !!!!!

Just to clear this up,(not Alans seats)
The car was older and the wife younger.

ah, alans seat btw is the mayo dripping from his mcdonalds burger, he gets them free as he works there. sometimes he gets to be "your manager today"!

Or maybe we should change the subject before it gets out of hand! like his burger did
