Title: Water the passenger floor? Post by sterio on May 7th, 2004, 9:57pm I have some fluid leaking down on the floor just below the instrument panel on the passenger side (right side) where you have your feet. Is it a coolant leak or the ac that is leaking? Thanks Dave |

Title: Re: Water on the passenger floor? Post by Geoff_W on May 7th, 2004, 10:29pm Welcome to the forum Dave! Is it clean cold water? Might actually be water from the airconditioning system, had a similar problem due to a clogged pipe on the bulkhead in the engine bay, one on either side of coming from the bottom of the front of the fan casing. see http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/acevaphousinglabelled.gif and item labelled water drain tube. These have a valve in the end which if they get gunged up allow condensation in the aircon to build up to the point when it overflows and drips into the passenger compartment. Easy enough to clean the valves out in the engine compartment. In my case problem solved. |

Title: Re: Water the passenger floor? Post by jayarr on May 7th, 2004, 11:31pm Hi I had this problem and it was found to be the seal around the pollen? filter into the cabin compartment. This filter is due change at about 60k miles. Seal changed and now is all ok. I did get a wet left toe in the summer but this has now ceased and could be connected to your answer ? jayarr |

Title: Re: Water the passenger floor? Post by Paul B on May 8th, 2004, 10:29am I would follow that link and clean the drain tubes out. I had exactly the same problem which gave my missus the odd occasional cold and wet foot :-[ When I finally got around to doing it, I found an unbelievable amount of..... muck in them. No wonder the water found its way back inside! :o Since then, no trouble... and dry feet ;D Paul |

Title: Re: Water the passenger floor? Post by Paul B on May 8th, 2004, 9:39pm Also... I had a problem in that warm air would not be blown out of the vents if the car was stationary. Worked a treat on the move (hot & cold) but would be a b****r at traffic lights! :o Anyway, since doing the drain tubes, all has been back to normal. Paul |
