Faulty ignition switch????? Thats wher I would start looking.. take of the covers on the steering column and see if moving anything ariound the back of the switch makes a difference!

When it won't start do you get a clicking from the soleniod and do the needles go right around and back again ?,
If they do then it sounds to me like you need a new battery, one of the cells could be gone and it would cause these problems.

Yep Dud battery if the needles flick round everytime..... sure sign of failure imminent

Yeah that sounds like it is definitely your problem, Go somewhere and have the battery checked, It is probably a dead cell that is causing you the problems.

my scorp had sat at home for the last 3 months while I was in hospital. Went to start it and guess what ? flicking needles ! Though it was just low voltage but no such luck . Ha d adud cell in the battery and a replacement was the only remedy. Lucas supplied a new heavy duty unit trade for less than £45. All o.k. now but the radio was a pig to code up !

Regards , Madd.
