My 'New' 24v Scorpio has a slightly 'notchy' feeling when moving from the centre position. Any bikers among you will immediately think of the worn headraces feeling and this is exactly how it feels. Easily felt at a standstill and just about perceptable when moving.

How do I remedy this and is it expensive?

Ckeck all bushes and track rod ends for wear.

Wishbone bushes are prone to wear. I've changed both of them.

Well I cant be to shure about the Scorp, but my other car (1982 Firebird) had the same problem and it turned out I had to tension the power steering belt. It didnt make any sqweeky sounds or anything it just needed a bit tensioning.

I think you will find your steering rack is on the way out. Not a bad job to do and available for about £150 exchange from a motor factors. john.n :'(
