Has anyone used the EEC IV Code Reader for the 2.9 12Valve before.?

Any details of where to purchase would be welcome
and experiance of using same also.

Its called a star tester and I believe Halfords sell the Gunson one ... Have you read this page and there are some links at the bottom of it which might also help if they are ALL still alive

Hi Snoopy.

Had a look at the links but the reader featured doesn't
seem to have the 16 pin slot thats on the car.

A bit puzzled.Is there an adaptor perhaps?

I think you will have to make one yourself.... theres info on that page . I think Maplins do them .. and they also do mail order..

I've got one of the Gunson ones from Halfords and it worked on my old MkIII. However, although the 12v seems to have the 5 point connection near the battery, it doesn't allow the tester to work.

As Snoopy says, you'll need to make up the connector that fits the socket in the trinket (?) box next to the steering wheel.

Must admit though, not got round to doing that myself yet....
