Title: Re: Play Station 2 Post by Octavian_P on May 9th, 2005, 9:13am I'm trying to put a PC in my car, for LCD i thought of putting it in the place of the radio casset player, as for the rest i think the trunk is the best place, for controls, keybords, pointing device (touchpad) etc. i'll make extension cables and shield them from EM-fields. By the way, what is the supply voltage of PS2 ? does it have a transformer ? beware that the car battery has something between 9 to 14 V. When cranking your engine voltage drops dramaticaly, and when the engine is on it gots about 14.4 V (perfect charge voltage at a led-acid battery ). So you'll need some kind of stabilizer. |

Title: Re: Play Station 2 Post by Octavian_P on May 9th, 2005, 9:17am PS: forgot to ask you, how you wanna play PS2 games ? or it-s for passengers.. You could try to make it hang from the ceiling of the car on some kind of articulation. |

Title: Re: Play Station 2 Post by Baz on May 9th, 2005, 9:59am If it is for the rear seat passengers, you could set the screens into the headrests or use a bracketthat fits to the headrest legs. If it is for the front seat passengers, you could mount the ps2 in the boot and use a audio/video cable to run to a screen either fixed in the glove box or I have seen on car where they used to remove the cover for the airbag (it never had one as it was an early model) and place the screen there. The guy (whose name escapes me....sorry but he was from South Wales) used wireless remote controllers for the game pads. You would also be better with a decent sized power inverter which would enable you to plug the ps2 straight in just like at home into a 13a socket. I would recommend a decent sized feed to a cigarette type socket in the boot though Baz |

Title: Re: Play Station 2 Post by Scorpioen84 on May 9th, 2005, 11:36am Nice many replies... Ive got a DC/AC converter for 230v.. The new PS2 got 12v, but i got the old one.... I also use an FM-modulator to get the audio into my radio/mp3... Thinking about testing the PS2 on the back of the Rearseat, just take forwards the seat to change disk... LCD is for front passanger... LCD uses a volt stabilisator 10-17volts in always gives 12volts out... |

Title: Re: Play Station 2 Post by Scorpioen84 on May 10th, 2005, 2:22pm craig - Du you happen to have the name or number on that bracket.? My screen fits to brackets like fotocameras use..... There was two brackets following the screen but one for mounting, innto the neckrest, and one big ugly one, whom needs a BIG flat surfice to mount... (Whitch the Scorp does not have...) (Thought about the front-window, but nope...) ONE MORE THING. For PS2 Experts... I want to play mp3, vcd, divx, xvid .......... I know of a chip, but, its to risky... Ive heard about a cd to reprograme the PS2...? Anyone got anything.? (Im not buying a DVD for the car to, ive already got 5 DVDplayers and one DVD-burner..) oddjob - 8.5volts.? But it comes with a 12v caroutlet.? Why 8,5...? ??? ;) |

Title: Re: Play Station 2 Post by Scorpioen84 on May 11th, 2005, 1:56pm Hahaa... Ive solved the screen mounting, craig use 10sek. im gonna use 1sek... I tryed the screen on my mobilehoder, whitch is a strong magnet. And is stuck like glued, not moving while driving hard corners or bumpes.. Just a smal round magnet... So, problem solved, hehe, nice... (And, no, it wount "bother" the picture or elctronick`s on the screen....) |
