Can you help me, I've just bought a 97 2.3 scorpio, the wiper linkage only 'rotates' half way around then stops with the motor still running. When I raise the wiper arms off the windscreen, they rotate fully!!

Check the nut on the motor spindle, switch the wipers off, place the blades in the park position (btm of screen) then check / tighten nut.
