Title: 2.3 Auto Box Problem Post by the_machine on Oct 17th, 2005, 1:24am Hi guys, My Auto Box performs ok if gently accelerate, but if you load the engine, say up hill or put your foot down hard, it has problem going from 2nd to 3rd , it tends to select neutral and revv out , only by easing off the accelerator will it jump into third. Ive learned to drive it this way for now but i really need to sort it. Any ideas.? theres no fault codes showing (took it to ford dealer) as I say, gentle driving its mostly ok, but as soon as you want to overtake , or accelerate it will revv out into neutral or is it 1st gear its dropping into (not sure) but the revvs go up and you go nowhere until you ease off the pedal. many thanks in advance Pete the machine. My gearbox did this when changing from 2nd to 3rd, but luckily it was just slightly low on oil. It was above the min but after giving it just a drop more it's been fine since... Dave |
