Post by Ford_Sweden on Jan 31st, 2006, 5:38pm

Its a bit tricky to explain really.

On mine, its on the nearside/passenger side (RHD version) and just forward of the rear axle, up towards the floorpan.

I found I had to just unclip one part of a heatshield, but not necessary to remove any.

The adjustment knob is plastic and red in colour.

Not sure if all models are exactly the same  :-/

Thanks!
as i understand the two cables from the rear i getting together in some moonschaped thing and there it goes to the adjuster, but i wonder should i look directly under the passengerseat and in the center of the, car somewere or near the gearbox

Is this the pre 95 Scorpio (Granada) or the post 95 Scorpio?
I dont know if they are the same or not

Yes the moon-shaped thing and cables are therejust behind the gearbox somewhere, but for just an adjustment it s not necessary to go there... you just do it at the adjuster near the back.

To Highlander. Its a post -95 i think as we dont use "granada" in sweden.

To Paul
the only tinh that shows under my car is the exhaust pipes and so on, and plenty of heatshields, the only part i see of the cables is when they leave the rear axel.

i will take some picures to show how it looks under my car,

If you follow the  handbrake  cable  from the  O/S  rear  wheel   up  into  the  floorpan   recess    behind  the  fuel  tank, you  should  find  the adjuster.

Found it ok then?  Was I right?   ::) :-/

Hope you didn't have to dismantle too much to get at it.

Yes Paul, you where right, they where placed just over and backwards the two silencerparts as shown in pic3 (Backwards)
So now i have trimmed the handbrake (in -10 degrees Cold) so i hope it will work

Best Regards
Peter

Looking at these excellent  photos   what  with the exhaust and the heat shielding ,    it's easy to see how getting any access to the propshaft  is a real pain  in  the  ****.

Makes you   pine  for  the easiness of a  Front Wheel  Drive set up , but not for long :-*
