My R-reg 2.3 Ultima will lock and unlock using the remote key fob but the boot will not open using it. Is there anything that can be done to re-programme just this part of it, or are there any other suggeations as to what to look at? Ta!

Firstly, its a silly thing to mention probably, but I assume you do realise it takes 2 presses of the button to open the boot?

OK, if you do, then it probably needs dismantling and cleaning out inside (carefully).

If that don't work, then you may well need a new one :-/

lol i didnt know that either, now i can pop the boot without using the key !! you live and learn, eh? obviously last owner never used the boot, as it doesnt actually pop up, sticky seals i suspect, as it lifts fine

It can be altered in the ECU of the car. Has to be done with a FDS/WDS computer

Glad you had an 'easy-fix'. Wouldn't it be great if everything was as easy? ::)

With regard to the boot sticking to the seal, some members swear by rubbing talc on their rubbers :o :-X
