Title: 24v fuel pump running at all times Post by 2ndgear on Apr 20th, 2006, 11:07pm just bought a 24v cosworth, thought it was too good to be true. Battery goes flat over noght, then i realise the fuel pump is running at all times and one of the injectors is staying open throwing loads of fuel in the manifold. tried relay and all the obvious stuff. Thinking its more ecu or loom because it does it when there is no ign feed so its getting permanant 12v from somewhere. |

Title: Re: 24v fuel pump running at all times Post by david_molloy on Apr 20th, 2006, 11:31pm doesn't solve problem but may make car "usable" at little cost while you sort it out. could try splicing switch into live to pump - so can manully turn off/on. makes good anti theft device also david |

Title: Re: 24v fuel pump running at all times Post by sector-9 on Apr 20th, 2006, 11:46pm Sounds like you have a short circuit somewhere in the loom or fusebox. Try pulling out fuse for the fuel pump and see if the stuck open injector then closes. If it does then you'll need to find where the loom is damaged - I believe there are some well-known places they can fail... Darren |
