Title: indicator fault Post by dingo-virgin on Jul 19th, 2006, 4:29pm Hello good people. My indicators have ceased to exist, as of yesterday. there are no lights, no dash indicator and no clicking of relay. the relay and all of the lights are working for the hazards though. I've checked the multiplug at the back of the switch. Any other fuses involved with this? Is it possible for the relay to fail for one function? thanks Tony |

Title: Re: indicator fault Post by dingo-virgin on Jul 19th, 2006, 4:36pm no, not checked any fuses yet. confused by the fact that the hazards are still performing. do you know which fuses to check? thanks for the rapid reply :) btw it's a 'p' reg ghia estate (16v) if that makes any difference |

Title: Re: indicator fault Post by Kjetil S on Jul 19th, 2006, 4:45pm The handbook lists fuse 14, but check 16 and 17 as well (marked 'electronics') plus relay 29 (located 'adjacent to steering column') I agree it all seems a bit strange. Don't know if the hazards are running on a separate relay/fuse-set, though. If not, then the problem probably lies somewhere else. As always, it doesn't hurt to take 10 minutes and check all fuses in both boxes (there should be a fuse puller located underneath the fuse box lid in both boxes) ;) Edit: Did a second check in the handbook, and the hazards DO have a separate fuse, so it is probably your fuse that is blown. (Hasards are fuse 45) http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/handbook.htm fuses are page 130-134 |

Title: Re: indicator fault Post by sector-9 on Jul 19th, 2006, 7:13pm Large multiplug on the main fusebox - if this is put back in wrong then the hazards will work but no indicators or front lights. Best to unplug it so you can see how it should hook in at the cable end before clamping the other side down. Darren |

Title: Re: indicator fault Post by dingo-virgin on Jul 19th, 2006, 9:16pm Thanks all, Not been back out to have a look yet but, checked the big multi plug earlier and it is OK. (nothing been touched under the bonnet for a good while) Took the covers off around the steering column to expose the relay, and as long as i have found the right one (it was right at the back of the indicator switch, next to a yellow multi plug) this relay was clicking happily when the hazards on so assumed was working well. I shall check the fuses in the morning, thanks for your help |
