Title: power window trip switch Post by zaketh on Sep 17th, 2006, 4:04pm Hi,does anybody know where the trip switch for power window?have N reg ultima and today the front windows wont go back up have looked in owners manuel and it says in fuse layout that the switch i need is an auxilary fuse outside main fuse boxes and is located in drivers door,have had this apart and i can't see a brown relay antwhere,i hope someone can help else i'll be sleeping in the car tonight,Regards Damon |

Beyond that I can't help but there seem to be many 'oddities' like this with the Scorpio especially as far as electrics are concerned. |

Title: Re: power window trip switch Post by harry.m1byt on Oct 22nd, 2006, 11:24pm If they are similar to the Granada and many of the parts used are the same, then the trip is in the motor itself. It's a themal trip which should reset itself once the motor cools down. |

Unusual though in these sort of motors, wouldn't be working long enough to get hot in normal use, thermal cut-outs are there to stop the thing melting in extreme cases. Dead windings in 2 motors at a time is unlikely though...You haven't overrun the circuit by running 2 windows at the same time?
