Title: disconnecting a/c drive belt Post by markjarge on Oct 9th, 2006, 10:25am hi, after getting thru 2 a/c compressors this year, i've decided to try running my 1998 2.3 ultima auto with a shorter belt that bypasses the a.c compressor completely. having read all i can, all i discovered is that there does not seem to be a belt listed for the auto without a/c. does anyone know if this is possible ?, and if so, which belt do i use ? and is the configuration the same ? Cheers. Mark. |

Title: Re: disconnecting a/c drive belt Post by Highlander on Oct 9th, 2006, 10:28am Hi, I had a 2.3 manual with a shorter belt on it to bypass the aircon compressor so there must be one, maybe its listed under the manual ? Or just disconnect the electrical connection from the compressor? |

Title: Re: disconnecting a/c drive belt Post by markjarge on Oct 11th, 2006, 4:04pm In conclusion : there is another belt that is not listed on this site, it fits the 2.3 auto without a/c ! its not the same as the 2.3 manual belts ! I don't hav the finis number but i got it from ford for about £35. Brilliant site, keep up the excellent work :) Mark. |
