Title: Temperature gauge erratic + MAF? Post by harry.m1byt on Oct 14th, 2006, 11:45pm Hi again, still trying to solve its niggles - 2.9 12v 1995 auto and 83k. Tickover is now indicated at around a steady 850 and MPG much, much better. While working my way around it, I thought to give the MAF a clean down, except I was not able to find it - could someone provide me with a clue as to where it ought to be please? The temperature reading is quite erratic, constantly moving between minimum and mid way. I pulled off the rubber plug of what I assumed to be the sender unit just above what I assume is the thermostat housing and shorted it to ground. The gauge stayed on minimum both with it OC and SC - is there a known common problem with the wiring, connections or the gauge itself? The trip computers outsdie air temperature just shows '- -' all the time. The dash diagnostics seems to indicate that the temperature sender/wiring is open circuit (OC). Could anyone provide a clue as to where the sender unit is located please? My Mk III Granada's sender was clipped into the front bumper, but I can't find it on this one. Is there a repair manual for the post '95 Scorpio, my local parts outlet suggested Haynes don't have one? |

Post by Kjetil S on Oct 14th, 2006, 11:55pm The 12v doesn't have a MAF afaik. :) And Haynes (or others for that matter) haven't made a manual, which is why this site exist ;D There is however pdf's of the Ford TIS (Technical Information Software) on the site. Just select servicing and repairs) |

That is a tremendous relief, I thought I must be going a little blind :) Quote:
I have already found some of these and extremely grateful I am too. I wonder - is there a way to copy all the TIS across to a CD? |
