hi everyone i hope someone can help my air con comes on when i put the heat to the windscreen why is this cheers chris

What model? what type of aircon? basic with 3 dials or climate control with the LCD displays?

I think it's supposed to come on when you put it to windscreen position, the aircon dries the moisture out of the air, demisting it faster.

Well, I have climate control too and I keep the aircon on all the time this weather, I'm sure it defaults to on in windscreen mode.

See if anyone else can help more ;)

Yes.....aircon comes on when set to windscreen.....it's a default setting on climate control, but the aircon light doesn't light up (well... mine doesn't). ???

Come to think of it, my old (new shape) Mondeo did this as well. It didn't have C/C, just normal aircon. If you turned it to windscreen, then the aircon button would light up automatically. :)

Default postion on cars with SATC is ON when in the windscreen position ( turned fully clockwise ) see PAGE 54 (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/images/handbook054.gif)
