I have changed over the ABS controller and my ABS light is still on. Therefore do I need to get the fault code cleared before the light will extinguish?

what version of abs do you have?

i have the mk 2.0 version. i got the light on when on the rolling road. back on the road, it cleared itself.

not much help, though. :(

Hi, The controller number begins with 97. But I'm not sure what is meant b version though ???

It would seem so, if it fails the start up checks. (later system as yours) I had a wheel sensor go near short circuit (light on always,later system) but had to scan & clear the codes as the light would not go out with new sensor fitted,iether way it would be good to see whats going on
