Title: Good News! Post by adowds on Oct 28th, 2006, 10:59pm Hey... It's been a long time coming, but I finally got my 24V back together with a brand new engine wiring loom. Woo! All the stupid problems have gone, all good... BUT - I'm having trouble putting all the vacuum hoses back in place. Can anyone tell me quickly what hoses go where? Struggling to find a diagram that simplifies it anywhere... ALSO My new loom has an extra connector. A two-pin square one with a wire retaining clip. It comes out near the A/C pump but doesn't have anywhere to go. Any ideas? Could it be for something on a later car? Mine is a 95 Ultima. Cheers! Al |

Title: Re: Good News! Post by adowds on Oct 28th, 2006, 11:53pm Hey Dave! No worries, I was pleased to pass them on to someone who'd get use from them. Did you get on okay with them? Was well happy when she fired up this evening... Next is the dreaded MOT, erk! Al |

Title: Re: Good News! Post by Tompion on Oct 29th, 2006, 12:31am Yep wheels are fine, slightly softer ride which suits me, tyres a bit skitt-ish (can't say skittish!) in the wet, but not a problem, they’ll see me through the MOT in December which is the main thing. Dave |

Title: Re: Good News! Post by adowds on Oct 29th, 2006, 12:55am If (IF!) it all goes well on the MOT and she gets a few runs under her belt without any other serious probs appearing, I'm going to treat her to some top-notch rubber. Set of Michelins or Bridgestones or summat posh all round. Lurvely... Al |

Title: Re: Good News! Post by adowds on Oct 29th, 2006, 4:23pm Top work Solarpanel - that was the thingy indeed... Amazed it ran without that! TT - as to the vacuum pipes, it's basically been so long since I took it all apart that I can't remember how any of them go... There are the three hard plastic ones joined together, then the ones to the EGR valve. Can you give me a rough idea where the basic ones go first? Cheers lads! Al |

Title: Re: Good News! Post by howiedintheplace on Oct 29th, 2006, 9:33pm 3 hard plastic ones from the inlet of the engine perhaps ??? You should have the 3 lurking around by the p/s pump somewhere, one is VIS, other is general vacuum & other to the fuel vapour control. 2 pipes go to the DPFE sensor from the EGR main pipe bit & the EGR valve control comes from the EGR reg. |
