Title: 2.9 12v ultima 95 timing Post by hiacekim on Nov 1st, 2006, 7:42am Hi all, last year, top wiring loom burnt out . So local auto electrician said would new harness it for £300 ..great!...left him too it , now done but......he cant get it to start , because he says , no matter how he tries, the timing seems to be out. (The distributor had been taken out previously , and swapped with a new one .by ford ,this was when the wiring not the distributor was found to be at fault , so they put the old one back in) . If I could print some instructions for him, on how to set the Scorpios valve /distributor timing that would be fantastic. Cheers Kim :) |

Title: Re: 2.9 12v ultima 95 timing Post by howiedintheplace on Nov 1st, 2006, 8:31am I am amazed your guy don't know how to adjust the distrubter. It's a really old basic system. As Snoopy says. The later engines have a mark to follow, the pre 1995 ones do not you have to use a strobe light. |
